Anks Kumar

Anks Kumar had his start in broadcasting while studying at the University of Windsor. Outside of the classes, he hosted a variety of music programs at the campus station before settling into his role as play-by-play announcer of the Windsor Lancers. Some of his highlights include the 103rd OUA Queen’s Cup, where the men’s hockey team won the OUA conference for the first time in 16 years, and the 42nd CIS Bronze Baby Championship, where the women’s basketball team captured their fourth consecutive national title in 2014.

Since arriving in Hamilton in 2015, Anks has volunteered as play-by-play announcer for Marauders Basketball at McMaster University’s 93.3 CFMU. He joined Cable 14 in 2016 as play-by-play announcer of the OJBLL’s Hamilton Bengals, and has since been a part of more Hamilton sports coverage, such as Girls Hockey Day, HWDSB High School Hockey and Football Championships, GOJHL Playoffs, and the 2017 Heritage Cup.

With a passion for local sports and an enthusiasm for research, you can count on seeing more of Anks on upcoming Cable 14 sportscasts, including GOJHL and Allan Cup Hockey.
