Chef Nicholas Scime
Nicholas Scime decided after his retirement, as a Community Development Business Consultant for 35 years, that it was time for him to realize his dreams in the culinary field. To that end, Scime took a full year of Culinary School to become a Chef, and worked in an Italian restaurant. He and his team — The 5 C’s of Cooking -- now cater events and provide cooking demonstrations and workshops, as well as Chef tables in several venues, including client workplaces and in their homes.
As Past Chair of the Community Food Advisor for the City of Hamilton, Chef Nicholas is no stranger to giving back to his community. As an educator, Scime has taught cooking workshops at the Hamilton Farmers Market, Hamilton Spectator Go Cooking Kitchen, and was Guest Chef for the Nutrition & Wellness Expo in April 2014. He now is the educator for monthly workshops at both the Sackville Hill Seniors Recreation Centre and the Ancaster Senior Achievement Centre, as well as Fortino’s on Mall Road and in Westdale and Burlington, and is the Chef Educator for all Mohawk College culinary programs.
