Mike Fortune



Mike is a lifelong Hamiltonian who knows the city well. He has had extensive experience in public speaking and acting as Master of Ceremonies for a vast variety of events. His many years on local television programs have given him the opportunity to use his easy going personality and well appointed speaking style to please his audiences. Mike's media experiences have included hosting political forums, medical shows, sports panels, Telethons, live call-in shows, and many local sporting events . He worked with Blue Jays' Tony Fernandez on the Hamilton Thunderbirds baseball games. He has interviewed the likes of Don Cherry, Russ Jackson, Gordie Howe, Walter Gretzky, Henry Burris and Dave Andreychuk. He has chatted on air with three Mayors of the city of Hamilton...Bratina, Eisenberger and Wade. His most recent television exposure is his ongoing Police Watch program which involves one-on-one discussions with Hamilton Police. Mike is proud to be a member of this dynamic community.

Mike is often called on to be Master of Ceremonies for a host of events. He has done many civic events including the prestigious Gallery of Distinction Awards, Hamilton's Annual Tourism Awards, The Hamilton Chamber of Commerce Awards and the United Way Kickoff 2013. He has worked many golf tournaments for various groups and corporations. He has been asked on an annual basis to host gala fundraisers for charitable organizations throughout this great city. Weddings, private functions and Grand Openings have also been part of Mike's work as Master of Ceremonies. In 2012 Mike hosted the Grand Opening of a local shopping centre and shared the stage with the Minister of Defence, Peter MacKay.
